Father's Day: Rolled Hem Handkerchiefs

Update: Rolled Hem Hankies for Mother's Day!

In April 2012 we made a new version of these great handkerchiefs, this time for Moms! They are a practical, pretty Mother's Day gift, entirely handmade by you! If you’d like to make your own little stack follow along with the pattern below!

To make a set of six 12-inch square handkerchiefs as shown above you will need:

• A Mother's Day Liberty Fat Quarter Bundle
• Handquilting thread in color 0919

Father's Day Rolled Hem Handkerchiefs

These hankies look great when you make them from fabric that's reminiscent of men's shirting fabric both in look and feel, and make a wonderful handmade father's day gift.  We chose fabrics with small prints, but that's not to say you can't think out of the box and go for a much bolder pattern.   We chose 7 fabrics that compliment each other so you can hand dad a gorgeous stack of hankies, but we know he'd be just as thrilled with one!

;) I use hankies all the time. Your photo shows a guy using the hanky with a suit but you have so many lovely, girly prints, too! Saves issues tissues which saves trees. I just throw hankies in with my regular washes. Best, Louise
