So fun - I'll give this a try...I have a couple of pincushion patterns out with Fig Tree quilts, but this looks fun and simple and like a great way to feature a cute fabric. Thanks!! I'll post a pic on your flickr group when I get one done!

I once made a pincushion of cotton fabric and thread, stuffed with cotton batting, which rusted my pins in a matter of months, leaving brownish-red stains on the fabric and handmade crocheted lace.

I now make and stuff my pincushions with wool (felt or yarn scraps) and/or synthetics (such as PolyFil), and have no more rust problems.

Everyone who reads this blog is super-talented, I know. So forgive me if I'm stating the obvious - But you can use this same pattern (for pincushion) and make really sweet little fall pumpkins. For the stem I have used cork, (either a rectangle from the sheets you can buy, rolled and glued) or an actual cork. Looks pretty good.

So sweet and not at all scary to me as a new sewer/quilter. I can't wait to make one for myself and for a couple of friends. Thanks!
